Cadet Basketball Camp COVID-19 Protocol & Guidelines

**Update: Per Maryland State COVID policy, campers will not be required to wear masks after July 1, 2021. However, per CDC suggestions, all unvaccinated campers are strongly encouraged to wear masks.

Covid-19 Protocol

  • The CDC highly recommends all staff and campers over the age of 12 be vaccinated before participation in any summer camps.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for daily screening of symptoms for each camper, and urged to keep campers at home if they are feeling sick or experiencing the following COVID19 symptoms:
    • Cough o Difficulty breathing
    • Fever of 100.4 degrees or higher
    • Sore throat
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Diarrhea and/or vomiting
  • Equipment will be frequently disinfected throughout the day. Hand sanitizer will be provided on site.
  • Social distancing (3-6 feet) will be practiced whenever possible.
  • Campers must maintain a 6-foot distance while eating or drinking.
  • As of June 1, 2021, Maryland State Covid guidelines still require all campers and staff members to wear masks while indoors.
  • Any camper showing signs of Covid will be isolated (with a staff member) until a guardian can pick them up. A negative Covid test and/or a doctor’s written permission will be required prior to returning to camp.

Guidance and Responsibilities for Parents and Athletes

  • Do not bring your child to camp any day that he/she feels sick.
  • Educate/remind your child on the importance of distancing, masking, and hygiene.
  • Campers should ideally have a back-up mask in case one breaks or is misplaced.
  • Notify Coach Hill asap if your son/daughter tests positive for COVID after the start of camp.

Hygiene/Distancing Recommendations

  • Campers should consistently wash their hands throughout the day, especially before any food/drinks, and after any restroom usage.
  • Do not touch any personal items belonging to other campers
  • Bathrooms --Bathrooms will be available--certain stalls & urinals will be blocked off. --Limited number of campers allowed to use the restroom at a given time. --Facilities crew will clean and sanitize restrooms and gyms daily. *Campers should stay 3-6 feet apart whenever live games are not in play.
